One of the glories of the choral world, the all-volunteer Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus is a source of immense pride for Georgia, winning multiple Grammy Awards for its performances with the Orchestra and fervent praise from critics and audiences at the Woodruff Arts Center, New York's Carnegie Hall, Chicago's Ravinia Festival and the Berlin Philharmonie. Drawn from the ASO Chorus, the ASO Chamber Chorus showcases the talents of approximately 60 singers. Under the direction of Norman Mackenzie, the Chamber Chorus released a superb first recording of a cappella works in 2006. Their Spivey Hall program includes the ethereal Duruflé Requiem, with which ASO Music Director Emeritus and Conductor Emeritus Robert Shaw, his singers and Mackenzie as organist inaugurated Spivey Hall's Albert Schweitzer Memorial Organ in 1992. In the words of Robert Shaw, "Spivey Hall is to music as light is to painting." Experience the full beauty of the ASO Chamber Chorus in the excellent acoustics of Spivey Hall.

Program BRITTEN Rejoice in the Lamb, Op. 30; BERNSTEIN Missa brevis; BARBER Agnus Dei; DURUFLE Requiem, Op.9
