About the Artist

“I have long considered Spivey Hall to be my artistic home having played here regularly since the organ was installed. The organ
and room inspire music making at the highest level and I feel it consistently pushes me to achieve greater artistry.”

“Alan Morrison possesses a technique that could chew holes through solid concrete – and sensitive musicianship to boot.” (The Diapason)

Truly one of the great players of his generation, Alan’s playing always offers “a magnificent performance – virtuoso in technique, musical in approach, glorious in sound.“ (Organists’ Review)

Alan Morrison holds the McGehee Organist Residency at Spivey Hall, where he recorded his 2021 ASA Digital Recording release, Florence Price – Virtuoso and Poet. Alan is head of the Organ Department at the Curtis Institute of Music as well as College Organist at Ursinus College.
