About the Concert
Dr. Kurt-Alexander Zeller, director
Dr. Sean Vogt, conductor
Clayton State University’s Music Drama Workshop presents Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic operetta Patience.
The show, which lampoons the ridiculous excesses of celebrity culture and fandom—just as prevalent in Victorian times as in our own; Patience helped to launch the public career of Oscar Wilde—is produced and staged by Kurt-Alexander Zeller and conducted by Sean Vogt, with design and technical direction by Derrick Vanmeter.
The cast includes members of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts’ Music Drama Workshop, CSU Chorale, and Masterworks Chorus ensembles–plus an extra-special celebrity guest appearance by Interim Provost Dr. Jill Lane, making her opera debut. This not-to-be-missed extravaganza of tuneful hilarity is free to all Laker ID holders (faculty, staff, and students) and only $10 for general admission.
*Free for CSU students, faculty and staff with Laker Card (limit 2 per ID)
