Musical America’s 2019 Artist of the Year, the Grammy® Award winner has established himself as one of the formidable pianists of our era. Combining flawless technique with a fiercely independent spirit and deep devotion to the composers he plays, his performances are revelatory and spellbinding.
After an opening half of Handel, Stravinsky, and Schubert, Trifonov turns to vibrant works from the Americas — including his own Tango — culminating in Villa-Lobos’s dazzling Bachianas Brasileiras No. 4, a celebration of rhythm, color, and imagination.
