“Expert musicianship, razor-sharp ensemble, deep musical feeling and a palpable commitment to communication” (Chicago Tribune) are hallmarks of the Dover Quartet, whose members are “a superb match, supremely unified in sound and musical intention” (ClevelandClassical.com) with “a rare musical combination of power and beauty” (BostonClassicalReview. com).
The Quartet’s triumph in the 2013 Banff International String Quartet Competition launched their international career, chronicled in the 2020 documentary film, Strings Attached: On the Road with the Dover Quartet. Curtis Institute of Music alumni and faculty, the Grammynominated Dover Quartet holds multiple residencies and maintains an extensive schedule of concertizing, teaching and recording.
In performances “intense, commanding and filled with color” (ArtsFuse.org), “the Dover is superb, among the best young quartets today” (The Washington Post).
The Dover Quartet appears by arrangement with the Curtis Institute of Music, where it serves as the Penelope P. Watkins Ensemble in Residence.
