Description

The Georgia Musicale Group (GMG) was founded in 2015 by Dr. Utako Tanigawa and was formally established as a nonprofit organization in 2016. Inspired by her return to music after a 45-year hiatus following a life-threatening illness, Dr. Tanigawa created GMG to share the transformative power of music to heal, inspire, and connect people.

Over the past decade, GMG has brought together more than 100 instrumentalists and vocalists, including both professional musicians and dedicated amateurs from diverse fields such as science, medicine, law, and education. Many members have rediscovered their passion for music after extended interruptions due to career and family commitments. GMG provides a welcoming environment where musicians can continue developing their artistry at any stage of life. Through regular practice sessions, workshops, and performance opportunities, members explore new repertoire, enhance their musical experiences, and share their stories through music.

Today, GMG connects participants across the United States and internationally. Our Renowned Artist Series reflects our commitment to artistic excellence by presenting distinguished musicians in concerts, masterclasses, and lectures. We are grateful to all who have been part of this journey and look forward to many more years of fostering musical growth, meaningful connections, and the joy of making music together.
