Description
About the Artists
Polish countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński “is the real countertenor deal, one of the best I’ve heard on the operatic (or any other) stage…He has, in short, raised the bar decisively for what we can expect of this voice type in this repertory” (Opera).
Orliński possesses an “uncommonly beautiful voice and acute musical and dramatic instincts” (Chicago Tribune), “smooth, creamy and produced with ease, his intonation is clean, and it’s a voice that the listener can relax and luxuriate in” (Bachtrack). “He’s a wonderful artist, and a genuine star” (The Guardian).
He has quickly emerged as one of the most vibrant performers on the international classical music scene, triumphing on stage, in concert and on recording, winning new audiences for his art form. His live performance of Vivaldi’s “Vedrò con mio diletto,” filmed at the Aixen-Provence Festival in 2017, has amassed more than four million views.
“Throughout the recital, Orliński was direct, personable, generous: he wore his singing heart on the sleeve of his beautiful green suit. And the capacity audience at Wigmore Hall loved it” (Opera Today).
