The Sons of Serendip return to Spivey Hall with a holiday program to lift your spirits. This dynamic quartet whose unique blend of classical, pop, and soul music has captivated audiences nationwide. From their stunning vocal harmonies to the emotive sounds of the harp, cello, piano, and vocals, every performance is an immersive experience.
In a series of serendipitous events spanning years, the lives of four gifted men took an unexpected turn when they auditioned for America’s Got Talent. As season nine finalists, Sons of Serendip won tremendous acclaim by offering fresh interpretations of popular music.
Okorie “OkCello” Johnson—an Atlanta-based cellist-composer, looper, improviser, and storyteller—will open the performance with his signature blend of classical technique, jazz influence, and African diasporic rhythms. He has been featured on The Tamron Hall Show, recognized as a recipient of The Kennedy Center Office Hours Artist Residency, and was selected as a sound installation artist for the Democratic Republic of Congo’s 2022 Biennale.
