Description

Southern Crescent Chorale’s eighteenth Spivey Hall appearance will feature choral classics, including British composer John Rutter’s “Magnificat”. A popular and frequently performed work, it is appreciated for its joyful spirit. This concert will be in honor of John Rutter who celebrated his 80th birthday in September.  Accompanied by a small professional orchestra and Spivey Hall’s magnificent Albert Schweitzer Memorial Organ, the Chorale’s powerful performance of this work will inspire and enthrall.  The Chorale will be joined by soprano soloist, Tiffany Uzoije, who has been praised for her “authentic and rich tone” as well as her “engaging stage presence”.  Ms. Uzoije regularly appears in productions at Atlanta Opera.

In addition to the “Magnificat”, the Chorale will perform pieces by Mendelssohn, Verdi, Gilbert and Sullivan, and Forrest as well as a sprinkling of hymns and spirituals.
