Description

Since their formation in 1994, the Tetzlaff Quartet, comprised of brother and sister Christian and Tanja Tetzlaff, Hanna Weinmeister, and Elisabeth Kufferath, has developed a reputation for lyrical, detailed readings of a wide range of repertoire. The quartet tours all major concert venues in Germany and also performs in France, Italy, Belgium, Great Britain, and Switzerland. Spivey Hall is proud to host a rare U.S. appearance this season.

Jörg Widmann’s stunning single-movement quartet is surrounded by Mendelssohn’s passionate early quartet and Dvořák’s final one, conceived in America and written in Bohemia.

Program

MENDELSSOHN | String Quartet in A Minor, Op. 13

WIDMANN | String Quartet No. 2

DVOŘÁK | String Quartet in A-flat Major, Op. 105
